About the job
You will have the unique opportunity to be part of Verve’s growth trajectory by ensuring that quality revenue financial operations are created to drive business operations.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will work closely with other finance and non-finance team members. You will participate in implementing accounting processes and controls to enhance revenue accounting & reporting.
The ideal candidate aspires to grow with Verve and is willing to support all business areas whenever needed.
What You Will Do
Manage all matters related to revenue accounting including but not limited to reviewing & clarifying financial terms in revenue contracts, enforcing strict adherence of contracts to group revenue recognition policies and customer receivable reconciliation
Lead the monthly / quarterly annual close processes related to revenue billing and reporting including JE preparation, reconciliation, review of all revenue accounts and conducting customer level review for all Verve entities to achieve timely, accurate, and insightful reporting
Collaborate with legal to ensure a robust and audit-proof contract management system is in place, including active tracking of contracts and amendments for all customers.
Develop and maintain a robust tracker of non-standard financial terms in contracts and ensure that rebates, revenue shares, and discounts are calculated and recorded accurately in our financial statements for all entities
Synchronize and automate revenue reports through active and continuous engagement with data, sales, and group controlling teams to streamline the alignment of BI reports and the final accounting numbers
Develop and document business processes and revenue accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Lead cash collection processes and initiatives within Verve to maintain healthy accounts receivable thresholds (including building relationships and collaborating directly with General Managers of different business units)
Continuously challenge the status quo and stay highly focussed on simplification and automation of all revenue accounting processes
Manage, develop, and grow a team of 4 Finance Operations Accountants
What You Will Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with CPA certification
Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting, ideally at hyper-growth companies
Having led a finance team for 2-3 years
Experienced user of Excel
Prior experience working with Netsuite or another major Accounting ERP
Experienced in revenue accounting practices, implementations, and processes
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions
Strong attention to detail and high regard for precision
Nice to have : Knowledge of SQL, Python, and experience automating reports
