Prax Group has announced it intends to acquire joint ownership of PCK Raffinerie GmbH (PCK) from Shell Deutschland. As a result, we will be setting up an associated wholesale business to buy and sell crude oil and refined products.
We are now looking to recruit a Bio-Sustainability Compliance Manager to be based in Hamburg.
The Bio-Sustainability Compliance Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring adherence to local registrations such as NABISY and ISCC, as well as overseeing trading in allowances for the emission of greenhouse gases.
The position is placed in the German business group and collaborates with the international Prax group and particularly the UK.
This position is responsible for navigating regulatory landscapes, managing compliance processes, and leveraging tools like the UER database and EEX for efficient operations.
By upholding bio-sustainability standards and managing emissions trading, this role contributes to environmental stewardship and organizational integrity.
Accountabilities
- Regulatory Compliance : Ensure compliance with local regulations such as NABISY and ISCC related to bio-sustainability practices and greenhouse gas emissions
- Emissions Trading : Setting the strategy regarding the sourcing and procurement of relevant environmental quotas
- Proof of Sustainability : Maintain ISCC compliant mass balance, check incoming ISCC Proof of Sustainability and issue outgoing Proof of Sustainability to relevant third parties
- Documentation and Reporting : Maintain accurate records and documentation related to compliance activities, and generate reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Risk Management : Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring continuous improvement in compliance processes
- Stakeholder Engagement : Collaborate with internal teams, regulatory bodies, and external partners to communicate compliance requirements and foster positive relationships
Skills, Expertise and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred
- Prior experience in regulatory compliance, preferably in bio-sustainability or environmental management
- Strong understanding of relevant regulations and standards such as NABISY and ISCC
- Familiarity with emissions trading schemes and carbon markets.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in using tools such as the UER database and EEX for compliance management and emissions trading
- Attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in compliance documentation and reporting
- Highly proficient in German, with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in a professional setting. Additionally, good communication skills in English to collaborate with international stakeholders and navigate English-language regulatory documents and communications
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
