Our Client is seeking an experienced Insurance Specialist to join their team managing insurance related aspects of their portfolio of investments.
Your Responsibilities :
- Evaluate the risks and obligations related to insurance coverage, claims history, and compliance by conducting insurance due diligence on prospective acquisition targets.
- Work together with transaction teams to examine and negotiate conditions related to insurance in purchase agreements, such as indemnity clauses, warranties and representations.
- Create and put into action insurance plans to reduce risks and maximise chances for value development during the course of an investment.
- Work along with carriers, underwriters, and insurance brokers to obtain the right liability, directors and officers (D&O), and property and casualty insurance for portfolio firms.
- Offer management teams of portfolio companies insurance-related advice and assistance, including with claims handling, coverage optimisation, and risk reduction techniques.
- To proactively find possibilities for portfolio optimisation and improving risk management, keep an eye on new hazards, legislative changes, and developments in the insurance market.
- Take part in investment committee meetings and offer advice and insights on insurance-related matters to help with portfolio management and investment decisions.
- Assistance with managing and renewing each office's insurance policies.
Your Qualifications and Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in finance, risk management, business administration, or a similar (apprenticeship).
- 3-4 years of experience in the insurance business, preferably in risk management, underwriting, or brokerage. It is very ideal to have prior experience working in an investment management or private equity setting.
- A solid grasp of insurance products and types of coverage, such as liability, D&O, and property and casualty insurance.
- Proven ability to evaluate insurance policies, negotiate insurance conditions, and carry out due diligence on insurance in the context of M&A transactions.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex insurance concepts to non-insurance stakeholders.
- Knowledge about guarantees and trade credit insurance is an advantage
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
