About the Role

We are hiring an experienced Head of Accounting to join our team at Circus. Reporting directly to the CFO, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of accounting and financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in Circus's financial activities.

Your Daily Business

Lead and manage our accounting, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high performance and professional development within the team.

Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.

Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.

Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and other financial reports to provide insights and support strategic decision-making.

Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial reporting activities.

Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities to facilitate audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements.

Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the organization to support business initiatives, identify opportunities for process improvements, and drive operational excellence.

Stay current on accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and proactively assess the impact on Circus's financial operations and reporting.

Base Qualifications

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management roles, with at least 1 years in a leadership position.

Strong technical expertise in accounting principles, financial reporting standards (National GAAP and ideally IFRS), and internal controls.

Demonstrated experience managing complex accounting processes, including month-end close, financial statement preparation, and audit coordination.

Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.

Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functional areas at all levels of the organization.

Hands-on approach, roll up sleeves and dive into details when necessary, while also maintaining a strategic focus on long-term objectives.

Fluent in English and German language
