The Highlights
As our Lead Backend Developer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our fast-growing startup. You will work closely with our founders and various business stakeholders in a cross functional environment to architect and develop our scalable backend systems.
Your expertise will be instrumental in planning the product and feature roadmap, fostering a strong engineering culture, and mentoring and growing our development team.

Design, develop, and maintain our backend infrastructure using Python and FastAPI
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand customer needs and translate them into robust technical solutions
Implement best practices in software development, including clean code, testing, documentation, and continuous integration / delivery
Optimise system performance, scalability, and reliability
Mentor and guide junior developers, promoting a culture of learning and growth
Contribute to the hiring process and help build a world-class development team
What You Bring to the Table
4+ years of experience as a backend developer, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software
Strong proficiency in Python and experience with FastAPI or similar web frameworks
Expertise in database design and management using PostgreSQL and Cassandra
Familiarity with AWS and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform
Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design principles and their application in complex systems
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to tackle unfamiliar challenges in an agile environment
Passion for writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
Fluency in English
