Who we are

Greenbone is a globally operating company developing open-source solutions for vulnerability analysis and management. Our products protect the digital infrastructures of organizations of all sizes by identifying security issues before they turn into real threats. We operate in a rapidly growing market and are driven by innovation, flat hierarchies, and a culture of openness. Trust, teamwork, and personal growth are central to how we work.

Help us build and operate the infrastructure that enables secure software development. As part of our Product Engineering organization, you'll work on CI/CD, automation, internal tooling, and platform operations to support engineering teams (full-time employment, 40h/week).

Your mission

  • Build and maintain infrastructure for development and CI/CD
  • Automate workflows with Python, Go, Bash, and YAML
  • Develop and operate internal tooling and platforms
  • Improve deployment, testing, and release automation
  • Provide and manage data for engineering and analysis

Technologies Used:
  • Python, Bash
  • SQL/PostgreSQL
  • GitHub Actions
  • Docker/Podman/Compose/Quadlets
  • nginx/nginx ingress
  • Linux (Debian, RHEL, Ubuntu)
  • AI agents (e.g. OpenClaw and similar agent frameworks)

What you offer

  • Several years (3+) of experience in a DevOps, Platform Engineering, or similar role, ideally in a software development environment
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and modern software delivery practices
  • Experience administering Linux-based systems
  • Good understanding of networking fundamentals and relational databases
  • Experience with scripting and automation, preferably using Python or Bash
  • Experience with container technologies and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and Helm (or a strong willingness to learn)
  • A structured, proactive, and self-driven way of working
  • Passion for improving automation, reliability, and developer experience
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills in English (German would be a plus), with the ability to work effectively across development and operations teams
  • Willingness to undergo an extended security clearance as part of the hiring process

Why us

  • Opportunity to help shape a growing cybersecurity company
  • Flexible working hours and 100% remote option
  • A motivated and diverse team with an open company culture
  • Flat hierarchies, direct communication, and genuine appreciation
  • 30 days of vacation and an attractive pension scheme
  • Job bike, fitness programs, and corporate health management
  • Comprehensive, ergonomic work equipment - also for the home office

Your Application Process at Greenbone for this role:
  • CV Pre-Screening
  • Coding Challenge
  • 1st Tech interview with a Senior Dev and another peer from the team (Duration: approx. 60 - 75 minutes)
  • Final interview with Department Lead and/or C-level (Duration: approx. 60 minutes)

About us

We are looking for people who want to develop their full potential with us. We seek team players who are willing to take on responsibility and share their enthusiasm. Above all, we want you to enjoy your work and want to make a difference! We value diversity and welcome applications from people of all genders, nationalities, ethnic and social backgrounds, religions, disabilities, age, sexual orientation and identity.

Your Application Process at Greenbone

1. Initial meeting with the Talent Acquisition Team (Duration: 30–45 minutes)
2. Interview with the Hiring Manager and Peer (Duration: approx. 60 minutes)
3. Final interview with Department Lead or C-Level (Duration: approx. 60 minutes)

The process may vary slightly depending on the position. For some technical roles, a case study is included between the second and third interview.

We look forward to getting to know you!
