Stellenbeschreibung

Req ID:508470

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling, and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full-time Tolerancing Lead Engineer in Hennigsdorf or Salzgitter we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your tolerancing expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to the Train Architecture Domain Leader and work alongside inclusive and multicultural teammates, collaborating with the Mechanical Engineering and Industrial communities.

You'll play a key role in reinforcing the tolerancing culture within Alstom. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as design engineers and industrial teams), ensure alignment on tolerance requirements, and contribute to the consolidation of critical dimensional characteristics, among other responsibilities.

You’ll specifically take care of specifying tolerance requirements to meet train performance expectations and executing complex stack-up calculations, but also supporting design engineers in their scope and fostering strong communication with the industrial team.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Specifying tolerance requirements to ensure train performance as per customer expectations
  • Animating strong communication with the Industrial team
  • Supporting design engineers in their design scope
  • Executing complex stack-up calculations (1D and/or 3D)
  • Consolidating all critical dimensional characteristics
  • Collaborating with other discipline specialists as part of the Alstom expert network for improvements and knowledge capitalization

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • A technical qualification or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design, product integration, or dimensional engineering
  • Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) (ISO-GPS system and/or ASME
  • Proficiency in stack-up calculation (1D and/or 3D)
  • Mastery of technical drawing reading and writing
  • Proficiency with CAD software (, CATIA FT&A)
  • Familiarity with dimensional metrology, requirement management, and manufacturing process capability
  • Knowledge of calculation software (, MECAmaster) is desirable
  • Effective communication and training skills in both German and English
  • Structured and organized with a hands-on approach

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines
  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues
  • Contribute to innovative projects
  • Utilise our open working environment
  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries
  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning
  • Progress towards becoming a tolerancing expert
  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
