We are seeking an experienced Director Logistics to lead our global logistics organization and drive end‑to‑end excellence across all regions. In this pivotal role, you will own logistics strategy, governance, and HUB performance while spearheading the implementation of a centralized material management model.
This position can be based at any of our locations in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, or the UK.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Governance
- Own and evolve the global logistics and HUB strategy.
- Define and enforce group‑wide logistics governance, standards, and operating procedures.
- Ensure clear interfaces across Global, Regional, HUB, and Branch organizations.
- Serve as the key logistics partner to Executive Management and regional leadership teams.
Centralized Material Management
- Lead the global rollout and ongoing maturity of the centralized material management concept.
- Oversee centralized planning, allocation, and replenishment processes.
- Optimize material flows between factories, HUBs, branches, and intercompany networks.
- Ensure effective use of new and used material aligned with group rules.
HUB Operations Oversight
- Hold full accountability for HUB performance, cost, service levels, and compliance.
- Define operating models, capacities, and layout concepts.
- Drive improvements in throughput, utilization, lead times, and cost efficiency.
Systems, Tools & Data
- Lead the implementation and usage of logistics and planning tools (e.g., Rapid Response, PowerBI).
- Ensure process discipline, data accuracy, and end‑to‑end visibility.
- Define KPIs and drive data‑based performance management.
People & Organization
- Build and develop a high‑performing global logistics team.
- Ensure capability development, succession planning, and strong cross‑functional collaboration.
- Model leadership excellence and compliance.
- Lead logistics transformation programs and standardization initiatives.
- Drive best practices across regions and support new business models and growth activities.
Qualifications
- University degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
- 10–15 years of experience in logistics and supply chain leadership, ideally in multi‑regional environments
- Proven expertise in centralized material or inventory management models and HUB operations
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate strategy into operational execution
- Demonstrated success in leading complex transformation and change initiatives
- Experience leading teams in complex, matrix organizations with strong governance and process discipline
- Hands‑on, pragmatic mindset with the ability to operate on both strategic and operational levels
- Strong analytical skills and data‑driven decision making
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management abilities
- Fluent in English and German; any additional language is a plus
- Willingness to travel internationally depending on business needs
