IT Support Technician - (Systems and Hardware support)
Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey within the European Space Operations Centre? We're on the lookout for a dynamic IT Support Technician to join our client in an innovative international setting.
About the Role :
As an integral part of the Network Operations Centre (NOC), you'll play a pivotal role in coordinating, configuring, and monitoring activities related to the ESA ground operations.
Your responsibilities will include providing 1st and 2nd line support to ESA and its users, managing Ground Operations, Operational IT, and Operational Control Centre services.
You'll be the go-to person for real-time service requests from customers.
The Operational Control Centre (OCC) Team, where you'll be situated, oversees operational IT hardware, local data centres, wiring centres, and operational control rooms onsite.
Key Responsibilities :
- Installation and maintenance of hardware
- Cable installation, testing, and patching
- Spare part management and vendor communication
- Configuration management and preventive maintenance
- Ticket handling (Incidents, Service Requests, and RfCs)
- Administration / configuration of various applications
- Support of refurbishment projects / engineering activities
Desired Skills and Experience :

These would be a bonus :
- Excellent knowledge of common data centre infrastructures, including wiring concepts, cooling, and power distribution
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and fault analysis
- Understanding of networking concepts, components, and protocols
- Familiarity with basic system administration on UNIX and Windows platforms
- Capable of lifting equipment up to 25 Kg and occasional shift work
- Experience in Voice Communication Systems would be advantageous
- Electrical Safety Test Certification (DGUV V3, DGUV V3 Durchführungsanweisung, and TRBS 1203) would be beneficial.
