Legal Counsel

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the provision of contract management services, ensuring all contract management activities are executed in accordance with the relevant group / division / business directives and instructions including company procedures and the contract management framework.

Each day, you will ensure that the portfolio of contracts in the business follows contract and claim management methodologies in accordance with internal standard procedures.

You will also showcase your expertise by reviewing and commenting on commercial and technical tender terms and conditions.

The work model for the role is : #LI-Hybrid This role is contributing to the Robotics & Discrete Automation (RA) Business Area in Friedberg.

Main stakeholders are all stakeholders at the Friedberg site as well as the global ABB RA organization. You will be mainly accountable for :

• Identifying the contract baseline, highlighting potential risks, and conducting risk assessments per guidelines and processes.
• Negotiating, reviewing, and managing selected contracts and non-disclosure agreements in coordination with the legal department and business areas.
• Drafting and managing legal correspondence to customers and suppliers.
• Supporting the legal department in resolving disputes, litigation, and arbitration.
• Enforcing and defending ABB's contractual interests throughout the project lifecycle, including monitoring and assessing changes and deviations.
• Ensuring compliance with the ABB Code of Conduct, global and local standards, tools, guidelines, and processes in all activities.

Qualifications for the role

• You are skilled in risk, claim, and contract management methodologies and enjoy working with legal and contractual aspects within the corporate environment.
• You have first years of experience in managing contracts and non-disclosure agreements.
• Highly adept in contract law.
• You are passionate about effective communication, problem-solving, flexibility, and collaborating in cross-functional and international teams.

You exhibit a hands-on mentality, customer orientation, and structured work approach.

• Degree in law, business law, or a comparable field, with a strong understanding of economic contexts, ideally with industry-specific product knowledge.
• You are at ease communicating in German and English.
