Inside DNV the Hamburg and Kaiser-Wilhelm-Koog Measurements Units is an accredited 3rd party institute for measurements and tests on wind turbines for more than 30 years now.
Would you like to explore your knowledge and gain some hands-on experience as a Student Assistant - Remote Sensing, Loads and Power performance measurements?
The Section Wind & Turbine Testing is part of the Department Renewables Measurements Germany and is located in Hamburg and Kaiser-Wilhelm-Koog, Germany.
The Section measures and analyses the loads on the whole structure of a turbine evaluates the characteristic power curve of a specific turbine, measures the wind speed on-site, and provides diverse services involving LiDAR technology, including equipment validation / calibration as well as wind resource and power performance assessment.
The Section currently consists of 20 employees.
Your key tasks will include :
- Support our Project Engineers in Loads, Power Performance, and LiDAR measurement campaigns
- Project assistance for our Project Managers
- Proposal assistance for our Sales Manager
- Regular data quality and plausibility checks
- Work on your own small R&D projects (Measurement Systems)
- Support in design and instrumentation preparation
- Installation and Maintenance of instrumentation on (field-) site
- Software and Tool development
- Support of other Sections in Acoustic or Power Quality

The successful candidate :
- Enrolled student within the technical field (. Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Wind Energy / Environmental Engineering) with at least 1 year left until expected graduation
- Basic knowledge of MS Office
- Fluent German language (both written and spoken)
- Fluent English language skills (both written and spoken)
- Knowledge of common programming languages preferred (. Python, MATLAB, Famos)
- Driving license type B
