Legal Counsel- Construction
Our client, a leading organisation in the construction and real estate sector, is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join their team.
This role can be based in Berlin, Frankfurt or Hamburg.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide expert legal advice and support to operational business units, with a primary focus on German construction and procurement law.
- Manage legal risks associated with the preparation of bids, the conclusion of contracts, and the execution of construction and service agreements.
- Contribute to internal reporting by offering insights to division managers and corporate headquarters.
- Oversee the examination, assertion, enforcement, or defence of claims, and coordinate with external legal counsel during disputes.
- Conduct internal training sessions, particularly focusing on construction contract law (VOB / BGB contracts) and procurement law.
Your Profile :
- Completed 2nd state examination in law (preferably with honours) and substantial practical knowledge of construction and procurement law.
- At least 5 years of professional experience as a lawyer or in-house counsel, with a preference for experience within a corporate environment, ideally including 2 years in construction law.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Proven ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment, with the capacity to assess complex economic issues from a legal perspective.
- Practical experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and legal proceedings.
- High level of commitment, decisiveness, assertiveness, and a service-oriented approach.
- Fluency in both German and English.
