Automotive development engineer for Body-in-White and CMS

Position Summary : Responsible for new product development and associated engineering requirements, including design verification for engineering changes to current production products.
Act as the company’s engineering representative on Customer vehicle teams. Development of automotive components made of steel or aluminum.
Responsibilities
- Experience in the development of Body-in-White, Crashmanagement-components or battery housings for German OEMs (BMW preferred).
- Lead of product designers and CAE-engineers to develop the required components following the customer specification.
- Concept creation of alternative solutions for automotive components based on customer specifications.
- Apply the fundamentals of mechanical theory, material properties, test protocols and basic manufacturing processes to daily projects.
- Develop component and system level product designs utilizing engineering applications in accordance with customer requirements.
- Interpret and understand customer inputs and communicate Shape outputs to customers.
- Participate in all DVP&R, DFMEA, and PFMEA development meetings.
- Maintain effective communication with internal and external customers to meet development timelines.
- Resposible for product design and development.
- In cooperation with LQE is responsible for selection of special characteristics.
- Works with customer portals according to their requirements.
Requirements
- University Degree (Engineering)
- Language knowledge : German - native or fluent, English - fluent
- Analytical thinking, customer approach, communication skills.
- Previous impact energy management engineering experience.
- Advanced in Microsoft Office
- Experience in product, process or manufacturing engineering.
- Experience of the guideance and evaluation of CAE-simulations.
- Knowledge of specific customer requirements (BMW preferred).
- Experience with DFMEA and PFMEA.
- Experience with vehicle packaging.
- Experience in the requirements of Body-in-White or Crashmanagement systems.
