Insurance Lawyer

As part of Our Client's Commercial Legal Team, within a global insurance organisation , you will collaborate with the Regional Head of Legal & Compliance and Head of Insurance Law.

Your role will involve addressing legal matters related to insurance and regulatory law , contributing to the development and maintenance of business procedures and processes, and supporting global coordination of insurance law activities.

Responsibilities :

• You will play a crucial role in shaping the company's approach to insurance and regulatory law , ensuring alignment with legal requirements.
• Handling strategically important projects with international scope , requiring strong legal expertise and a willingness to engage with foreign laws and jurisdictions.
• Conducting legal research and addressing issues in insurance contract law, insurance supervisory law, intermediary law, general contract law, conflict of law rules, and European laws.
• Providing legal advice to management, executives, and employees on various lines of business, distribution, multinational operations, and strategic projects.
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and legal documents, particularly insurance and reinsurance wordings, as well as commercial and service contracts.
• Advising on strategic sales projects, partnerships, and digitization initiatives.
• Providing guidance on cross-border insurance and supporting the updating of international licensing guidelines.
• Collaborating with colleagues from different locations on strategic legal positions, and participating in the planning and delivery of training sessions and information events.
• Managing external legal counsel when necessary.

Qualifications and requirements :

• Completed law studies- qualified lawyer with 1st and 2nd German State exams.
• Business fluency in English and German .
• Passion for challenging legal work and negotiations.
• Ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly.
• Analytical , organisational, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in industrial insurance or a law firm, with relevant expertise.
