What the role is about

• You will technically lead and shape fast-paced AI breakthrough projects, ensuring our Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs) are productionized as MVPs to generate substantial business value.
• You will oversee the design of the solution architecture and the implemention of the data pipelines, ML workflows, and web services, managing deployments on cloud environments and integrating with clients' systems.
• You will do code reviews for our junior developers and upkeep the strong coding standards within the team.
• You will be a senior contributor in growing our high-impact start-up and shaping our identity both internally and externally.
• You will work closely with corporates, large international NGOs, the Mittelstand, scale-ups, unions, and the public sector to bring advanced Machine Learning solutions.

What we would love to see

• Proven Experience with Software Projects : You have at least 5 years of experience in building and scaling software projects in a professional environment.
• Leveraging Advanced AI Expertise : You have extensive experience architecting and deploying scalable machine learning solutions in production environments, including designing pipelines for model training, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

You have a deep understanding of the full ML lifecycle, bringing expertise in frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.

You also have significant experience handling different types of data including tabular data, unstructured data, images, etc.

Deep Technical Expertise : You can solve complex software engineering and machine learning challenges with a comprehensive toolbox.

You have a strong foundation in Python and SQL. Additionally, you have experience with secure web applications (e.g., working with SSL certificates), RDBMS (preferably PostgreSQL), and at least one cloud platform (preferably Microsoft Azure).

• Leadership and Dedication : You bring leadership skills and experience mentoring junior team members. You support the team in reaching our goals with a result-oriented approach while fostering a culture of caring.
• Dealing with Ambiguity : You excel at navigating and resolving challenges that are vaguely defined, making sense of what needs to be done.

Ideally, you also bring the following

• Experience working with LLMs (OpenAI / Claude API).
• Experience in building front-end solutions.
• Experience with Docker and containerization.
• Experience integrating web services with SAP.
• Ability to communicate in German with level B2 or higher.
• Openness to travel to clients location 2-3 times a month.
