Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Health and Safety Advisor to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in Essen, Germany.

Our engineering and project management and construction disciplines ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable delivery of projects globally across the metals and mining, infrastructure, and energy sectors.

This position reports to the Regional Director Project Management & Construction and functionally to the Global Director, Health & Safety.

Key Responsibilities :

• Implementation, monitoring and optimization of the specifications and processes of the Hatch safety management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 45001 : 2015
• Execution of the functions of occupational safety specialist in accordance with 6 ASiG
• Carry out incident management (investigation, statistics, cause analysis and remedial measures)
• Coordinate and support the implementation of the Hatch Safety Management Information System (iPas SM) in the office and on projects
• Working towards implementation and compliance with legal, standard and project specific HSE requirements
• Creation and implementation of risk assessments
• Participation in the preparation and maintenance of safety data sheets and operating manuals
• Preparation and participate in the Occupational Safety and Health Committee meeting
• Preparation, support and participation in internal and external audits
• Support in checking the law monitoring and maintaining the legal register
• Ensure performance, assessment, training and development for all staff
• Provide workers compensation and rehabilitation support and advice.
• Assist the Global Director Health and Safety with promoting, representing and improving the Health & Safety practice.
• Facilitate the preparation and implementation of project health and safety plans
• Provide input, guidance and review of Health & Safety sections for proposals.
• Coordinate office / project weekly reports, monthly reports, audits, reviews and close out reports.

Qualifications and Experience :

• Significant experience in health and safety, both in heavy industrial construction and an office setting, with at least 3 years at a senior level.
• Professional experience as an H&S manager in plant engineering, service or maintenance companies and familiarity with the relevant standards (ISO 45001, SCC)
• Completed technical studies or comparable technical college training
• Qualification as an occupational safety specialist or safety engineer in accordance with 7 ASiG
• Superior writing, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a self-directed environment
• Equally comfortable in the office or a project site
• Willingness for occasional business trips
• A high level of computer skills
• Ability to lead and motivate staff and teams in health and safety.
• Able to speak, read and write in German and English at a professional level

Diese Position ist dem Regionaldirektor Projektleitung und Bauausführung und funktional dem Globaldirektor Gesundheit und Sicherheit unterstellt.

Hauptzuständigkeiten :

• Implementierung, Überwachung und Optimierung der Spezifikationen und Prozesse des Sicherheitsmanagementsystems von Hatch nach DIN EN ISO 45001 : 2015
• Ausführung der Funktionen des Arbeitsschutzspezialisten gemäß 6 ASiG
• Durchführung des Vorfallmanagements (Untersuchung, Statistik, Ursachenanalyse und Abhilfemaßnahmen)
• Koordinierung und Unterstützung der Implementierung des Sicherheitsmanagement-Informationssystems (iPas SM) im Büro und bei Projekten
• Hinarbeiten auf die Umsetzung und Einhaltung gesetzlicher, standard- und projektspezifischer Anforderungen bezüglich HSE (Health, Safety, Environment)
• Erstellung und Durchführung von Risikobewertungen
• Teilnahme an der Erstellung und Pflege von Sicherheitsdatenblättern und Bedienungsanleitungen
• Vorbereitung und Teilnahme an der Sitzung des Ausschusses für Arbeitssicherheit und Gesundheitsschutz
• Vorbereitung, Unterstützung und Teilnahme an internen und externen Audits
• Unterstützung bei der Überprüfung der Rechtskontrolle und der Führung des Rechtsregisters
• Sicherstellung der Leistung, Beurteilung, Schulung und Entwicklung für alle Mitarbeiter
• Bereitstellung von Arbeitnehmerentschädigungen und Unterstützung und Beratung bei der Rehabilitation.
• Unterstützung des Globaldirektor Gesundheit und Sicherheit bei der Förderung, Vertretung und Verbesserung der Gesundheits- und Sicherheitspraxis.
• Erleichterung der Vorbereitung und Umsetzung von Gesundheits- und Sicherheitsplänen des Projekts
• Bereitstellung von Input, Anleitung und Prüfung der Abschnitte Gesundheit und Sicherheit für Vorschläge.
• Koordinierung der wöchentlichen Büro- / Projektberichte, monatlichen Berichte, Audits, Überprüfungen und Abschlussberichte

Qualifikationen und Erfahrung :

• Bedeutsam Erfahrung im Bereich Gesundheit und Sicherheit, sowohl im schweren industriellen Bau als auch im Bürobereich, mit mindestens 3 Jahren auf Leitungsebene.
• Berufserfahrung als Gesundheits- und Sicherheitsmanager in Anlagenbau-, Service- oder Wartungsunternehmen und Kenntnis der relevanten Normen (ISO 45001, SCC)
• Abgeschlossenes technisches Studium oder vergleichbare Fachhochschulausbildung
• Qualifikation als Arbeitsschutzspezialist oder Sicherheitsingenieur gemäß 7 ASiG
• Sehr gute schriftliche, zwischenmenschliche und organisatorische Fähigkeiten
• Fähigkeit, in einer selbstgesteuerten Umgebung zu arbeiten
• Kompetenz sowohl im Büro als auch auf der Baustelle
• Bereitschaft für gelegentliche Geschäftsreisen
• Hohes Maß an Computerkenntnissen
• Fähigkeit, Mitarbeiter und Teams im Bereich Gesundheit und Sicherheit zu leiten und zu motivieren.
• Fähigkeit, auf professioneller Ebene Deutsch und Englisch zu sprechen, zu lesen und zu schreiben.
