What you will do at reisetopia

We are looking for a highly skilled (Senior) WordPress Developer (m / f / x) to join our software engineering team to help us further develop our platform.

Your daily work focuses on the following tasks :

• Planning, developing and maintain high-quality WordPress solutions ranging from custom themes to plugins and new features of our platform ensuring it's functionality and excellent user experience .
• Produce modular, scalable, well-tested, and documented code.
• Contribute to an understandable and extensible application architecture with an eye on high performance, high availability and security.
• Publish, deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot code throughout a CI / CD deployment pipeline .
• Conduct code reviews and maintain coding standards.
• Collaborate with designers, product manager and software engineering team to turn responsive designs into effective web solutions.
• Stay updated with the latest web technologies and WordPress trends.

As part of our software engineering team you will get the chance to participate in the further development of reisetopia and its platform.

What qualifications we expect from you

Considering the role as (Senior) Wordpress Developer (m / f / x) we are explicitly looking for someone, who is fully committed from the first day on and who is passionate about implementing our tech projects.

Therefore, we require the following qualifications :

• At least 3 years of professional experience
• A university degree or professional experience developing larger software architectures
• Strong expertise in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery.
• In-depth experience with WordPress (in combination with Gutenberg) theme and plugin development best practices.
• Solid understanding of cross-platform front-end and back-end website development.
• Proficiency in responsive and adaptive design principles.
• Familiarity with Wordpress core as well as third party (RESTful) APIs.
• Proficient in using code versioning tools, such as Git.
• Communicative and proactive in keeping the team informed and suggesting solutions.
• Passionate, driven, empathetic, and capable of working independently without direct supervision.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Fluent in English - German is a plus, but not necessary

In addition, the following qualifications would be beneficial :

• Good Knowledge in UI / UX
• Knowledge of SEO and page speed .
• Knowledge in tracking and analytics tools like Google Analytics, PostHog and Looker Studio.
• Knowledge in Typescript, React.js, Next.js and universal rendering
• Knowledge using serverless functions like AWS Lambda
• Knowledge using DevOps tools like Docker, Ansible and Serverless Framework
