Lead Expert Scheduling & Planning (all genders)
As the Lead Expert Planning & Scheduling within the Life Science Engineering & Technology group, you will develop a governance structure for a global team focused on the planning and execution of capital projects.
Projects in the Capital portfolio range from production expansion, equipment installation, and greenfield plant construction.
You will be part of a newly formed Global Project Controls team where you will identify, develop and implement standards for Planning & Scheduling and evaluate available tools to professionalize Planning & Scheduling within the global Engineering & Technology group.
As the Lead Expert for Planning & Scheduling you will work closely with the Lead Expert for Project Control and Estimating.
To succeed in this role, you will need to leverage your expert knowledge, leadership and communication skills to actively support the integration and adaptation of newly developed methods and tools within the organization.
Collaborate with global and cross-functional teams and manage interactions between your team and key stakeholders. Key Responsibilities : Define, implement, and maintain a global standard for Planning & Scheduling, thriving to support best-in-class project delivery.
Identify, and implement a globally effective Master schedule with sub-schedules for all workstreams such as Initiation steps, Design, construction, Procurement, ITOT and CQV Conduct a status quo and a gap analysis of the global project organisation with focus on planning & scheduling.
Based on these analysis : Define organisational set up and operating model required to ensure a robust planning & scheduling to significantly reduce overspend and schedule slippage.
Define and implement globally harmonized project progress and performance evaluation reports through common KPIs indexes such as SPI / CPI, EV, and CPM.
Onboard and functionally lead global planning & scheduling resources, supporting various projects in North America, EMEA and APAC : Ensure planning & scheduling resources are set up for success Ensure harmonized structures are in place and are being followedConduct regular reviews with focus on critical path and identification of potential mitigation measuresDeveloping, implementing, and maintaining resource planning through resource assignment and leveling in Master schedule for finding gaps, peaks, and shortage of resources in the project.
Actively foster continuous improvement and lessons learned by training the Engineering & Technology organisation in the area of Planning & Scheduling Location for the Lead Expert Planning & Scheduling is flexible, including hybrid working arrangements within.
Preferred location is GER or USA Who You Are : Technical degree to minimum Bachelor level in Engineering (Master’s level preferred)PMP or Professional Engineer certification or Advanced Degree in Engineering or MBA10+ years experience related to Planning & Scheduling for Capital projects of significant size and high complexity.
In-depth knowledge and experience in the set up and control of project progress and performance reports with SPI / CPI, EV, and CPM.
Excellent communication skills to successfully lead critical path and deviation discussions. Deep understating of lifecycle schedules and concepts in Project Management Good understanding of Design, Construction, Mechanical / electrical and instrument equipment, ITOT and CQV activities.
Excellent knowledge and experience with scheduling softwares like Microsoft Project or P6Effective Experiences using formula tool, Macro, Pivot tables, graphics, types of charts, SPI, CPI curves and providing dashboard reports in excel.
Excellent knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office like Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Supervisory or Line Management experience and demonstrated success with stake holder management in the area of Project Controls.
