Ledlenser GmbH & Co. KGSolingenAdvisor for Indigenous Rights, Networking and Lobbying (m / f / x)
cinfoNorth Rhine, GermanyAbout 500 indigenous peoples live in Amazonia and the Gran Chaco, spread over eleven countries. Their habitat extends over 8.6 million km² and is characterized by the highest biodiversity. This habitat is threatened by deforestation, illegal settlement, industrial activities and cultural assimilation. In order to effectively counter this environmental destruction, it is necessary to build good and thus effective networks.
As consultant at AGIAMONDO , you will work closely with the local stakeholders and Misereor in Aachen. In your country of residence, Germany, you will work on a mobile basis and undertake approximately four trips per year to Latin America.
Your tasks
- Networking : Establishing and maintaining local networks with indigenous and civil society organizations. Strategy development : Participation in the development of an action strategy of indigenous and civil society organizations in international contexts.
- Capacity Building : On-site technical support in the context of multi-week consulting trips and online with indigenous and civil society actors. Knowledge Exchange : Design of educational and exchange events with indigenous and civil society actors mainly in Amazonia (Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela) and in the Gran Chaco (Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay).
- Lobbying : organization and accompaniment of lobbying trips.
- Studies and evidence : Participation in the preparation of studies in support of claims of indigenous and non-indigenous organizations.
- Public relations : writing publications to raise awareness on indigenous issues.
