Director Corporate Communications Europe & Canada (f/m/d)
Based in Munich, Germany, the Director of Corporate Communications for Europe and Canada will work in close collaboration with the Corporate Affairs team to shape the Company’s external-facing presence and reputation in keyinternational markets.
You will build relationships with countryleadership in order to develop and execute communication strategies that reflect local audiences and advance business objectives.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Corporate and Digital Communications, this role is responsible forin-country activities, such as : media engagement, corporate press releases, executive visibility and thought leadership opportunities, spokesperson training, digital platform storytelling and content development, paid awareness campaignsand other opportunities in priority markets.
Close partnership with Product & Pipeline Communications will ensure that product news is adequately disseminated and contextualized within each market.
Collaboration with our Patient Advocacy and Corporate Responsibility teams will ensurethat local communicationsmessaging and programsreflect Regeneron’s patient-focused and ethical approach, with specific adaptation in each country.
You will also collaborate closely with Internal Communications to help bolster information-sharing, morale and sense of inclusivity among international colleagues by producingintranet features, orchestrating executive visits and forums, and crafting other programming.
You will find greater success if youestablish and foster relationships with functional leaders in international markets, such as site leads, regulatory, legal and compliance.
This role will require a balance of ensuring consistency in corporate messaging across regions withappropriate flexibility to reflect local regulations and customs.
Across all Corporate Affairs functionsand within the larger company this role serves as a liaison and strategic partner : cascading international decisions, updates and issues that may impact Corporate Affairs activities, and communicating corporate information that will affect newsflow and behaviors within the international markets.
This role requires a strong understanding of the global healthcare and regulatory environment, scientific and media landscapes, as well as workforce dynamics.
In addition, you should think cross-functionally and company first’ as we shape and protect Regeneron’s corporate reputation beyond the U.S.
In this role you will :
Lead cross-functionally, manage a small team and direct a global communications agency; coordinate closely with Corporate Communications leadership in the U.S.
Work collaboratively across Corporate Affairs to ideate and produce digital content for in-country websites, issue local disclosures and announcements, brainstorm story concepts for internal communications, craft materials to support in-country outreach by Patient Advocacy and local sales force teams, work with Corporate Responsibility team to understand local ESG regulations and philanthropy / volunteerism best practices.
Develop and foster relationships with in-country functional leaders, including Commercial, Global Development and General & Administrative functions, in North America and Europe.
Advance corporate awareness and reputation in Europe and Canada through structured media engagement, thought leadership opportunities, and paid campaigns.
Refine corporate content and materials for adaptation in local markets; ensure appropriate legal, regulatory and medical approvals are secured.
Serve as ambassador for corporate brand, ensuring local applicationaligns with corporate guidelines.
Support efforts that sustain culture via global and local employee engagement strategies.
Identifyoperational gaps where process or policy might improve efficiency.
Continuously evaluate priorities, issues and country requests in a fast-paced operating environment.
The work is both strategic and tactical in nature (e.g., conducting landscape analyses, creating market-specific awareness and media strategies, and developing standard tool kits for in-country customization).
Required skills include strategic planning, creative planning / execution, employee engagement and change communications, media relations, issues management, content creation, social media / digital execution, measurement, people management across countries, cultural sensitivity, and influencing outside a reporting line.
Familiarity with international patient advocacy and corporate responsibility practices will also add value.
This role might be for you if you have / are :
Bachelor’s Degree : minimum of 12years of relevant communications experience within the biopharma industry, with corporate, internal and change management capabilities
An outstanding communicator with global and in-country expertise; adept at creating partnerships and working collaboratively to meet shared objectives and goals
PR experience (in-house or agency); ideally experience with building corporate reputation
High level of professionalism and cheerful diplomacy with a Regeneron-first mindset; confidence to share new ideas and influence partners across a highly matrixed organization
Strong analytical capabilities; ability to reach sound decisions quickly, often with incomplete information, in a fast-moving and fast-growing organization
Excellent writer, editor and storyteller; ability to translate complex information with a varied, thoughtful and creative approach for different audiences
Willingness to stretch between high-level strategy and tactical execution, often within the same day
Relevant knowledge and experience creating content in integrated digital media formats (intranets, video, mobile, etc.)
Ability to lead agency partners and manage associated resources and budget
Detail-oriented; strong organizational, prioritization, and project management skills
Passion for science and patient impact; curiosity and desire to learn
Flexibility to regularly participate in meetings held during European and U.S. working hours; approximately 15-20% international travel mostly to U.S. and within Europe
Fluent in German and English at minimum; additional languages appreciated
