In the Business Development team of FlexGen Europe we are currently looking for a
Senior Battery Business Developer (m / f / d)

As Senior Battery Business Developer you will be responsible for the development of large-scale battery storage systems in Germany for ENGIE FlexGen Europe with expected total investment costs of approx.
1.6 billion €, from the development phase to the investment decision and preparation of the implementation phase. Their focus will be on large-scale projects with investment costs of €1+ billion each.
ACT NOW! these are your tasks :
- Developing new business opportunities, both through organic growth and mergers & acquisitions (M&A)
- Managing internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the projects reach the final investment decision
- Building and managing a functional team for the battery energy storage system projects, based in both Germany and Belgium
- Management of projects already under development, including project control (budget, planning, risk), design, procurement (with procurement support), grid connection and approvals
- Ethics, health and safety as well as governance round off the responsibilities : Ensure that project development activities comply with all ENGIE standards and procedures, ensuring a smooth handover of each project to the implementation team
Your profile what you should bring to the table :
- Completed university degree in energy economics, engineering, natural sciences or a comparable course of study
- Many years of professional experience, preferably in the power generation industry, with knowledge of BESS, the energy sector, the German legal framework, grid connection and / or the green H2 industry
- Familiarity with the German power market, business plans, project management / business development, permitting, grid connection procedures and / or safety studies as well as experience in negotiating EPC contracts
- Knowledge of MS Office packages
- Strong team and interpersonal skills, negotiation and communication skills as well as an independent and solution-oriented way of working
- Fluency in German and English (C1 level), knowledge of Dutch or French is an advantage
