About the Role

As a Lead Robotics & Automation Engineer at Circus, you will play a crucial role in the further development of our advanced Kitchen Robotics & Automation technology.

Your expertise will be essential in developing innovative solutions that enable the kitchen chef robot to prepare dishes with precision and efficiency.

You are creating a sustainable and modular architecture, connecting the language of automation, robotics and culinary.

Your Daily Business

Together with the team, you will implement the software and control system of our robotic cell with all its components

You will create a sustainable and modular architecture, connecting the language of automation with our culinary concept

You will work together with our mechanical and electrical engineering teams as well as robotics engineers on the successful implementation and product launch of our robotics kitchen

You will work closely with our test engineers to establish a fast and reliable test concept

You will work on our cloud infrastructure, remote maintenance and all other relevant system controls

You will be hands on working with our kitchen operations team to make direct observations and incorporate feedback for constant improvements.

This role offers the potential to develop further into a leadership role for the robotics & automation team, currently consisting of 4 team members

Base Qualifications

You have at least 3-5 years of work experience in Automation Engineering, preferably in the robotics field with first leadership experience.

You have an academical background in the area of software engineering, mechatronics or robotics

You are experienced in creating software architecture in the field of embedded systems

You are experienced in robotics path planning & optimization as well as in simulation

You are experience in PLC programming or similar automation software systems

experienced with control of complex industrial automation cells

You are passionate about hardware-related programming

You are experienced in object oriented programming preferably Java

Experience with open control and robotics frameworks (like ROS) is a plus

You are a fast out of the box’ thinker and a much faster get-things-done person

You have a hands-on character and good communication skills through all levels

You want to work in a high pace environment and be fully responsible to build and optimise technical systems and processes
