Senior Consultant - Cloud Infrastructure (m / f / d)
The role in a nutshell
Once onboarded, you will function as a core member of the EMEA PS Delivery team, becoming a Senior Consultant specialized in the Cloud Infrastructure (VCF, vSphere, and similar products).
You will engage with customers focusing on the delivery of VMware solutions and demonstrating your technical abilities to drive and develop solutions that assist customers in achieving their business goals and outcomes.
You will be expected to effectively work as part of a wider project team or independently act as technical lead on VCF engagements.
You will also be expected to lead the implementation of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solutions and use cases (vSphere for virtual compute, vSAN for virtual storage, SRM for BCDR).
During your career as a Senior Consultant, you will gain significant cross-industry experience and be expected to apply your problem-solving capabilities to drive successful business outcomes for our customers.
What type of work will you be doing :
- Perform design workshops, assessment of customer's existing environment, and create low-level design documents.
- Review and validate your and other team members' documents.
- Drive customer-facing and internal project calls along with project managers and provide technical guidance.
- Manage customer and internal escalations, and collaborate with support and engineering teams as needed.
- Work with various Business Units for successful execution of projects.
- Work with the product engineering team and resolve issues faced during project execution.
- Designing, planning, and execution of Virtual Cloud Infrastructure portfolio.
- As a cloud infrastructure specialist, you should also have a broad and high-level understanding of Storage Area Networks, Network-Attached Storage, Direct-Attached Storage, and cloud storage concepts.
A broad and high-level understanding of customer data and downtime tolerance and the impact on business continuity and disaster recovery design decisions.
A broad and high-level understanding of modern and legacy workload platform concepts (e.g. mainframe, bare-metal, virtualization, cloud, and cloud-native).
- Understanding of various 3rd party integrations with vSphere and VSAN and highlighting any interoperability issues.
- Maintain current, high-level technical knowledge of the entire VMware product portfolio and future product direction and expert-level knowledge of the virtual cloud infrastructure product lines, which include VCF, vSphere, VSAN, SRM, and HCX.
What we're looking for :
The following skills and experience will support your suitability for the role. We are keen to continue to develop a diverse team with different depths of expertise and knowledge.
- Certifications such as VCP-DCV or similar required.
- VCAP-DCV, VCIX-DCV or VCDX and associated certifications highly desirable.
- A strong understanding of in-depth knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation deployment, management & administration to work with sales, pre-sales, and customers on building successful delivery roadmaps.
- Experience with Agile and / or Waterfall methodologies.
- An understanding of modern applications and associated platform requirements is desirable
