A leading global provider of innovative packaging solutions is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Technical Director (m / f / d) for one of its specialized subsidiaries focusing on packaging technology & tooling. You will help steer the entire business unit, navigating new markets and overseeing the entire technical operations.

Responsibilities

Operational and Strategic Management

  • Oversee technical, operational, and financial aspects of the site.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets with regular forecasting updates.
  • Lead capacity planning, employee development, and organizational growth.
  • Optimize processes and control project timelines.
  • Manage procurement negotiations and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Supervise a team of experts in blow molding and injection molding technologies.
  • Continuously enhance production efficiency and cost-effectiveness while integrating cutting-edge mold designs.
  • Strategize for evolving industry demands, including ROI-driven investment planning.
  • Oversee financial reporting, including tax-related topics, monthly statements, and annual accounts.
  • Identify and implement best practices and efficiency improvement projects (EIPs) across other locations.
  • Drive task forces to streamline mold ordering, approval processes, and technology transfers.

Sales and Customer Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external and internal customers.
  • Actively pursue new business opportunities and cultivate markets.
  • Prepare cost estimates, offers, and conduct contract negotiations for mold projects.
  • Ensure accurate post-project financial assessments and margin verification.
  • Deliver top-tier customer service and technical support.

    • Candidate Profile

  • Degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Hands-on, implementation-focused approach with an enthusiastic attitude.
  • Proven sales expertise and exceptional project management skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail.
  • Experience working within a matrix organization.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in extrusion blow molding and injection molding technologies, preferably within the toolmaking or packaging industry.
  • Fluency in both German and English.
  • Willingness to travel (20%).
