The department of Macroeconomics at DIW Berlin is looking for a Research Intern (m / f / div), full-time, for the project starting at the earliest possible date.
The research intern will actively participate in an ambitious empirical research project that studies the composition of bilateral trade flows over the last 150 years.
We have a particular focus on understanding which products of trade were detrimental versus beneficial for countries economic development over the last 150 years and the impact of geo-economic conflicts on critical resources.

What we expect
We are looking for a student who
possesses a high GPA (2.5 or higher on the German scale or equivalent)possesses profound programming skills in Stata (R or Python also possible), ideally exceeding knowledge gained in a university classis able to think analyticallyis motivated and does not hesitate to propose ideas to move the project forwardis experienced in working independently, accurately and in a structured mannerhas an interest in working with data in Stataperforms tasks responsibly and reliablyhas an interest in international finance, international macroeconomics, international trade, development economics or economic history
